Give Quartz Countertops Some TLC!
A quartz countertop installation may be the answer if you’re searching for something enduring for your kitchen. It comes in diverse colors, including browns, blacks, bright red, and green. However, taking care of these installations ensures they look lovely for years to come. Don’t know where to start?
Keep Cleaning Simple
Simply clean your quartz countertops with water and a towel. Use a quarter-sized amount of non-bleach cleaner if necessary. Quartz withstands permanent staining from liquids such as red wine, but it’s still a good idea to clean up spills ASAP.
Have the Right Gear
Although it’s durable, it’s not indestructible. Therefore, purchasing trivets or pads for hot pots and pans is a good idea. Never place hot cooking instruments directly on the countertop surface. Also, avoid cutting or chopping fruits or vegetables on your countertops; invest in lovely, thick cutting boards!
Dried Stains
Even though quartz shouldn’t absorb spills, the liquid dries off and stays. Don’t start chipping away and damage your countertop when you’ve got a dried-on stain. Using a glass cleaner and a soft sponge can clean up dried stains. The most suitable sponges are those developed for non-stick pans. If something difficult to remove gets stuck, get a plastic putty knife and scrape it away.
Know What to Avoid
You should avoid nail polish remover, bleach, oven cleaner, and drain cleaners! Don’t clean using high acidic cleaners as these can dull the color of your countertop. If you spill some, clean up the liquid immediately. Also, never try to apply any sealers or other treatments to the surface! Although adding some of these would make your installations shiny for a moment, quartz countertops don’t require these. Simply clean it with some water, and it’s good to go!
